JAMMU, Feb 24: Fulfilling long pending demand of inhabitants of Shanti Vihar area of Ward 41, former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of lane in the area along with Corporator, Ward 41 Sanjay Baru. They were accompanied by district president, Munish Khajuria, Mandal president, Keshav Chopra, JMC officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be constructed with installation of paver tiles under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 10.40 lakhs and the funds were sanctioned under the planned expenditure by Government and were allotted for the development in the Ward.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that now J&K is witnessing a different scenario in terms of development and daily new works are being started in different areas of Jammu West Assembly segment which depict that development in J&K and particularly in Jammu West has touched new heights.
He also said that Article 370 was a major hurdle in UT’s development and after its abrogation by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah, have taken J&K on a new path of development which will ultimately lead to opening up new avenues which were absent before for decades in history of J&K. He also stated that coming time will open up many opportunities for youth in UT and they won’t have to go to other places in search of jobs and other things.
Sanjay Baru said that the works taken up were sanctioned due to efforts of former MLA during his tenure. He asked the Corporation to place a tender for the same work for black topping as people were in distress and were facing many difficulties but people demanded tile work as they stated that rains will wipe away blacktopping and tiles will be useful for a long time. So it was decided that paver tiles will be laid in lanes, he added.
Munish Khajuria stated that all 26 wards of Jammu West were developed to its fullest during the tenure of former MLA and till date the works sanctioned under his tenure are being taken up which shows that the BJP leader is working for betterment of society and masses.
