JAMMU, Oct 21: Arti Dayal, Jaganjot Singh and Dapinder Pal Singh secured first, second and third positions in the Sur Tarang Music Competition organised by Nirvana Academy (NA) at Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidhalaya, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
The consolation prize was conferred to Kunwar Langer and Shammi Kumar, whereas, certificate of participation was presented to Ankit Kumar, Harpreet Singh Khalsa, Vipul Gupta, Amit Kumar and Sumit Anand.
In the competition, 10 participants from different schools and institutes took part and exhibited their skills.
The competition started with stunning performance by seven-year-old Kunwar who sung “Itni Shakti Hume Dena Data Ki Maan Ka Vishvaas Kaamzor Ho Na” followed by Dapinder Pal Singh, who presented song “Maa”, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Arti a classical trained singer presented Sufi song “Tere Ishq Nachaya Kar Ke Thya Thya”, followed by “Bulla Ki Jaana Mei Kon” by Jagajot.
On the occasion, Krishan Lal Verma, Retd HoD, Fine Arts College, was the chief guest, who while speaking, said that these kinds of activities strengthen the confidence of participants and provide them the stage experience.
Among others present were Hitesh Badyal, president, NA, Kuldeep Kumar, Neeraj Sharma, vice president, Nishant Vaid, Santosh Sharma and Anmol Amla.
