SRINAGAR : The ruling National Conference (NC) today raised the issue of alleged molestation of a woman by a senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, who has been arrested by police in Anantnag district. The issue was raised by NC member Nasir Aslam Wani, who demanded a statement from the government, alleging that a PDP leader had allegedly molested a woman, promising her employment.
Strongly condemning the incident, he said the leader should be punished.
Wani was supported by another NC leader and Higher Education minister Mohammad Akbar Lone demanded that the House condemn the incident.
However, Leader of the Opposition in the House Abdul Rehman Veeri said, “if anybody has done anything wrong he should be punished as per law of the land.” “The government is yours, you have all the agencies under your diposed, let you ask them to investigate so that the guilty is punished,” he demanded.
