POONCH, June 25: District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Sajjad Ahmed Khan, today convened a joint meeting of District Officers, representatives of Management Committee of Shree Dashanami Akhara Mandir Poonch, Buddha Amarnath Mandir of Mandi Tehsil and other prominent citizens to review annual Buddha Amarnathji Yatra arrangements here today.
Detailed discussion on various aspects of Yatra was held to provide sufficient and comfortable accommodation to yatries whose rush is expected to increase from July 01 onwards.
The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements for security, proper sanitation, uninterrupted power and water supply, street lights renovations, parking of vehicles, provision of 1st AID for Health Care equipped with Ambulance, erection of kitchen sheds, bathrooms and temporary latrines, maintenance of sanitation, availability of ration , cooking gas, provision of tents etc. Regulation of traffic at the departure of Chhari Mubarak leading towards Budha Amarnath from Poonch for Yatries at different stages was also discussed. It was also decided to constitute committees of officers and local citizens for the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mumtaz Ali Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Development, Shokat Mehmood Malik, DySP Headquarters, Deepak Digra, District officers, K D Maini, Satish Sasan, Shambu Nath Khajuria, Amar Kapoor, Amar Singh Josh, Dr Raina, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, President Shri Darshanami Akhara Management Committee, representatives of Vishu Hindu Prishad and Bajrang Dal, attended the meeting.
