UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: The district administration today finalized the arrangements for 3-day historic Sankri Devta Mela starting from August 22 in village Meer of Block Panchari.
The arrangements for security, sanitation, medicare, drinking water and power supply were reviewed and finalized at a meeting of officers of line departments with District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal in the chair.
Joint Director P&S, Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Medical Officer, XEn PWD, Tehsildar Panchari, district heads of various departments, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Local Mela Committee members attended the meeting.
It was decided that District Police would deploy adequate security personnel during Mela days, while ARTO was directed to make available sufficient number of buses from different locations for the convenience of the public.
Health Department would ensure sufficient arrangements of medicare with standby ambulance arrangements.
Tehsildar, Panchari was appointed as Mela Officer who would keep a strict vigil on the checking of rates and quality of eatables in coordination with officers of departments concerned besides supervising over all arrangements for the mela.
For the awareness of people about various Government sponsored schemes, different departments would setup their stalls.
