JAMMU: Around 20 shops were buried and got completely destroyed due to landslide in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
”Nearly 20 shops were buried under the debris of a landslide during wee hours in Bhaleesa area of Doda district,” police said.
They said that a landslide hit the Bathri market, around 0415 hours, burying 20 structures while no loss of life was reported.
”According to initial reports, 15 structures consisting of nearly 20 shops got completely buried under the debris of the massive landslide,” a police official said.
He maintained that they have started a rescue operation with the help of locals while the district administration have also swung into action to immediately rush machines to remove the debris from the road.
