JAMMU, Nov 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) has expressed deep concern over the revelations of army regarding presence of large number of (around 300 terrorists) within UT and over 160 ready to infiltrate from across the LoC and demanded that the Government and army/security forces should to evolve some effective strategy to check new phenomenon of targeted killings of minorities and others in valley than merely making claims of normalcy.
In a joint statement senior leaders of JKPCC expressed serious concern over presence of large number of terrorists as disclosed by army in view of the growing threat of targeted killings of innocents, especially minorities and outsiders, which has emerged in couple of years . They demanded the Government to check dangerous designs of forcing minorities and outsiders to leave Kashmir, as fresh migration of Kashmir Pandits has been noticed in recent past besides fleeing of Jammu employees agitating for five months seeking proper adjustments for safety.
They said army’s revelations about the presence of over 300 terrorists within and over 160 in PoJK, ready to infiltrate, is very dangerous and contrary to the claims of the Central Government, LG administration and police that terrorism is on last leg. The targeted killings of innocent especially minorities and outsiders is very nefarious phenomena and dangerous design like 1990’s and authorities including Army should evolve more effective strategy to safeguard them and check migration of minorities.
The party leaders suggested that all KP and Jammu employees in the vulnerable areas of Valley should be treated as migrant employees, like in the 1990’s and attached in respective fields/department in Jammu province, till situation improves and they feel secure to serve.
For the last more than a decade thousands of migrant KP employees besides those selected under PM package and others selected under various reserved categories, willingly joined and served in various parts of Kashmir valley but now they are on continuous strike agitating for their transfer and safety but government fails to find solution but only claims improvement in the situation, the congress leaders said.
Senior JKPCC leaders urged the government to further strengthen the coordination among the army and security forces to defeat nefarious designs of Pakistan sponsored terrorists and their sympathisers especially the nefarious designs of forcing minorities and outsiders to migrate from valley.
The party extended full cooperation to the government and the army and security forces in defeating the nefarious designs of enemies , but sought more effective strategy and measures to check innocent killings in the valley.
