Army soldier killed by suspected militants in Pulwama

SRINAGAR: Suspected militants killed an Army soldier outside his residence in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Wednesday.
Official sources said that suspected militants barged into the resident of 25-year-old soldier Ashiq Hussain in village Pingleena at Pulwama on Wednesday afternoon.
”The soldier was taken outside his residence and shot at from close range,” they said, adding that the masked gunmen managed to escape from the spot.
They said Hussain was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, security forces were rushed to the area and a search operation was launched to nab the attackers. Checkpoints have been established within the five-km radius from the site of shooting, said the sources.
”All the vehicles are being checked and people are being frisked before allowing them forward,” they added. (AGENCIES)
