Army sets an example

Sir,
The credit must be given to the army for taking a brave and bold decision in convicting its own people (two officers and five jawans) for the Machil fake encounter case in 2010. The GOC-in-C Northern Command, was also fothright in accepting the mistake of his few men in shooting five youth in a car in Srinagar recently. It definitely reflects transparency in th justice system of army, and that no guilty is spared.
In army, there are two types of errors-error of ommission and error of commission. While in the former, it is the error of judgement, in the later, it is the error of intent. Army does not spare error of intent, that is for sure. There may be few black sheep, but by and large, the commanders at all levels are quite clear about it, and do not compromise on rules laid down by the organization. That is why, it is the most disciplined force of the country, and pride of the UNO peace keeping force. So, let our counter parts in the civil, follow army’s example and take action against the proven corrupt. How many IAS and IPS officers have been convicted so far?
Yours etc…
