Army porter dies in blast

RAJOURI, Mar 6: A young Army porter died in a landmine blast in forward area of Nowshera sector today.
Official sources said that mishap took place when Rakesh Kumar, son of Sathi Ram, resident of Sarya village in Jhangar area, deployed with a Gorkha Regiment as porter, was moving with some goods to an Army post, closer to the Line of Control on Wednesday.
He stepped over a landmine inadvertently, which exploded causing him serious injuries. Rakesh was immediately shifted to nearby Military hospital where he succumbed to injuries after some time. His body was later handed over to the local police for performing legal formalities.
