Army pays tributes to valiant martyr

SRINAGAR, Dec 4: Army today paid befitting tributes to Late Naik Akhil SS, who made the supreme sacrifice on Tuesday in Gurez Sector of Bandipora.
In a solemn ceremony at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of the proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the martyr.
Late Naik Akhil (28), while on a patrol was caught in a snow blizzard along the Line of Control in North Kashmir. Owing to the inclement weather and high altitude he developed severe medical condition. After immediate first aid, he was evacuated to 92 Base Hospital at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar, where he unfortunately succumbed to his severe medical condition.
Hailing from Village Veeranakavu of Trivandrum district, Kerala. The martyr Late Naik Akhil SS had joined the Army in 2000.  He is survived by his wife and son.
The mortal remains of the Late Naik were taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours.
