SRINAGAR, Apr 28: To inculcate the spirit of adventure and to channelize the energy of students, Army organized a trekking expedition for the students of Govt Secondary School, Anderwan wherein 40 students accompanied by their teachers were taken on a trek from Anderwan to Sundari Top.
An Army spokesman said the students were also acquainted with the basic survival skills in mountains. “Demonstration on use of splints, improvised stretcher, use of rope while moving on snow and carrying of wounded was also given to the students. After the exhaustive trek, the students were treated with delicious lunch as well. These activities filled the students with joy and encouraged them towards developing a fascination for adventure sports,” he said.
