Army organizes training day

SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Army today organised training of 30 youths for food processing technology at Horticulture office in north Kashmir’s Sopore Town of Baramulla district.
A defence spokesman said the aim of the training was to provide job avenues to the unemployed youth and make them self reliant by imparting the technical knowledge on food processing technology via various locally grown fruits and vegetables.
“The training of the food processing course commenced on October 12 in which 30 aspirants participated in the course from villages around Zalurah. The guidance was provided by the experts from department of horticulture. On completion of the training on October 20, the youths expressed their confidence in exploiting the knowledge received in making end products like Jams, Juice, Nectar, Squash, Tomato Puree, etc. The youth also expressed their willingness to approach various financial institutions and other agencies, to enable them to set up their own cooperative,” the spokesman said.
“The candidates were very enthusiastic and participated whole heartedly in the course and appreciated the honest effort made by army in providing this platform for employment of the locals,” the spokesman said.
