Baramulla, Dec 29: Army organizes mega art camp, youth and women empowerment workshop at Kashmir University North Campus in Delina.
With an aim to engage the youth and children in curricular activities, inculcate creativity and to empower the younger generation to become responsible citizens and work for the betterment of the society with ideals of gender equality, Delina Camp of Uplona Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Haiderbeg Army Camp in association with NGO Rouble Nagi Art Foundation organised an “Art and Creativity Camp” followed by a workshop on “Youth & Women Empowerment” today at Kashmir University North Campus, Delina.
A total of 178 children participated in the “Art Camp” followed by a “Youth and Women Empowerment Workshop” which was attended by 96 youths of the area.
The Art and Creativity Camp consisted of several activities intending to give an insight to the children into the fine arts of sketching and painting, thereby motivating them to pursue them as their hobby and channelizing their energy into constructive activities.
The second workshop had lectures on importance of gender equality, followed by interactions about various biases and challenges faced by women and children and ways to eradicate them from the society.
The event was organized in an informal environment in which participants were motivated to showcase their talent by performing various fun activities like singing, dancing, poetry etc. This was followed by a career counseling session in which the youth were guided about various career opportunities available them in order to enable them to achieve a brighter future.
All the participants displayed excitement and inquisitiveness in learing new skills and also esthetically participated in all the activities and discussion conducted during the course of the workshop.
Youth of the area were greatly benefited from this initiative. They appreciated the efforts made by the Indian Army and Rouble Nagi Art Foundation and requested for more such workshops to be conducted in the future.
