SRINAGAR, July 11: A medical and veterinary camp was organised by 30 Rashtriya Rifles 7 Sector RR at Village – Kalamchakla, in Langate, Kupwara yesterday.
A statement issued by the Army said that the response of the public was overwhelming as a large no of civil populace and dignitaries from Qaziabad attended the said camp.
A team of 6 Army doctors, 7 civil doctors including 1 veterinary doctor, 7 civil nurses and 8 nursing assistant offered consultation and treatment for various ailments including diabetes, hypertension, anaemia, respiratory disease, dermatological diseases etc. A total of 687 patients and 568 animals benefitted from the medical-cum-veterinary camp.
The team of doctors spoke to the ladies present with an aim to enhance awareness regarding common medical ailments during pre and post natal period, immunization of newborn and de-worming of children and adolescent.
Immunization for children and lecture on aids awareness and precaution was orgaised as part of the medical camp. A mobile ambulance with lab and x-ray facilities was also present during the camp. After the preliminary investigation, those needing further treatment were referred to higher medical centres.
