SRINAGAR, Sept 14: An ex-servicemen rally was organised by the Army at Boniyar Military Station under the aegis of Dagger Division located in Kashmir.
The rally was another stepping stone towards supporting welfare schemes and measures for improvement and upliftment of the veterans, ‘Veer Naris’ and Gallantry Award winners of the region. The rally was attended by ex-servicemen, which included retired officers, ‘Veer Naris’ and Gallantry Award winners of the region.

Major General, RP Kalita, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division chaired the grand event. President Jammu and Kashmir ESM League, president Rajya Sainik Board and Director ECHS interacted with the veterans and enlightened the gathering about various schemes and programmes which are beneficial to them and their families.
The rally was principally aimed at addressing relevant issues pertaining to health services of the veterans and acquaint them with various schemes and programmes for enhancing their quality of life even after retirement. The veterans, ‘Veer Naris’ and Gallantry Award winners were disseminated pension related information, functioning of veterans helping by PCDA (P) Allahabad, ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Smart Chip Ltd (CSD Card), Post-retirement schemes and service opportunities after retirement.
Officials of civil administration and various departments concerning Agriculture, Horticu-lture, Floriculture, Sericulture and Animal Husbandry advised about various Government schemes available for the veterans. SBI, PNB, J&K Bank, Gramin Bank, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank also established information kiosks.
The rally was yet another admirable attempt by the Army to increase communication with its veterans of the region and showcased the continuous commitment of the Armed forces towards recognition of the valuable sacrifices rendered by the defence personnel towards the nation.
On this occasion, Veer Naris of the region were felicitated by the GOC of Dagger Division, duly acknowledging supreme sacrifices of their near and dear ones.
