SOPORE, Dec 9: The Army inaugurated a vocational training centre at Lalad in Sangrama area of Sopore which witnessed a huge gathering of people
The aim of the initiative is to run various vocational courses at this centre, including training on food processing, completely free of cost. Various heavy duty machineries required for food processing have also been installed here which would give the students on the job training in food processing.
This Centre would provide an opportunity for the unemployed local youth of the Valley to gain some skills which will help them towards generation of self employment. On completion of training, successful candidates would be issued a valid certificate in collaboration with Horticulture Department of Kashmir which would further assist them in seeking employment.
The centre was inaugurated by Mohd Akbar Ganai, one of the senior resident of the area. Major Gen Asit Mistry, General Officer Commanding Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) alongwith Mira Mistry and Brigadier Alok Naresh, Commander 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles graced the occasion and extended their full support to the initiative.
The event was also attended by prominent personalities like Gul Sayeed, Chief Canning Officer, Horticulture Department, Kashmir, Abdul Qayoom, SSP Sopore, Irshad Wani, Dir North Campus, Kashmir University.
