POONCH, May 31: An Army Major was injured in a mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati area of Poonch sector last night.
Official sources said that Major Vikram Azad of 4 Maratha Light Infantry (MLI) was seriously injured after he over stepped a land mine in a forward location at around 8.30 pm last night.
The mine exploded with deafening sound and caused extensive damage to his foot and legs. He sustained multiple injuries and was shifted to Unit hospital. Today, he was air-lifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur.
