JAMMU, June 8: A Rashtriya Rifles jawan was killed today after his service rifle went off accidentally.
According to an Army spokesperson, the soldier has been identified as Mohan Sharma son of Ramesh Chander Sharma, a resident of Gurha-Brahmana (Akhnoor).
The accident happened at 6:15 this morning while the Jawan was on protection duty. The Jawan has recently returned from leave and his tenure in the battalion was about to over.
The mortal remains of the Jawan was dispatched for his residence at about 8 pm. The military funeral will be held tomorrow.
