Army jawan injured in firing

SRINAGAR, July 8: An Army jawan was injured when militants fired at a search party of security forces this evening during a cordon and search operation at Imam Sahab area of Shopian in South Kashmir.
Army’s 62 RR and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police today cordoned off the Barbugh village in Imamsahab area on a specific information about the presence of some militants.
As the security forces laid cordon of the village, militants opened fire upon them and injuring a soldier, Ramesh Kumar, and escaped.
The cordon-and-search operation was going on till last reports reached in.
