POONCH, Feb 11: An Army jawan committed suicide by using his service rifle at a post on the LoC in Poonch this morning.
The deceased was later identified as Naik Krishan Singh of 12 Jat Regiment. The mishap took place when the soldier was on duty at forward post. He fired a gun shot at his forehead and died on the spot. SHO Poonch along with police men reached the spot and took the body into custody . After performing legal formalities and postmortem, the body was handed over to the Unit CO. The Army has ordered a court of inquiry into the matter.
