JAMMU, Dec 16: Three persons including an Army jawan were killed in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, an Army jawan was seriously injured late last night when the bike on which he was travelling, was hit by an unknown vehicle at Maralya Road under the limits of police station Satwari. The profusely bleeding jawan identified as Naik K Samantha of Manipur, presently posted at 25 Mech Infantry, was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Today, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased jawan was handed over to Army authorities. A case in this connection was registered at police station Satwari and further investigations were underway.
In another mishap that had occurred last night near Toll Plaza, Bantalab in Nagrota area of city outskirts, three-bike borne youths were injured when their bike bearing registration number JK02BM-2102, got slipped. They were immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu, where the critically injured Bunty (22) son of Balbinder Singh, a resident of Narwal Bye Pass, succumbed to his injuries at about 11.20 pm. After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
At Sidhra area of city outskirts, a youth identified as Rohit Sharma (21) son of Satpal Raina, a resident of Sunderbani and his accomplice namely Ashish Gupta (23) son of Raman Gupta of Rehari Colony were injured when the car in which they were going, was hit by a speeding truck, late last night. Both were immediately rushed to GMCH where Rohit was declared as brought dead by the doctors. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and investigations started.
