Army holds drawing competition

Srinagar, Aug 11: Army in Mazbug village of Rafiabad area in Baramulla district of north Kashmir today organized a grand drawing competition for the school children and also held a demonstration along with it Navy.
An official said that a total of 400 students participated in 3 categories which were of class first to third, fourth to eight, ninth & tenth. “All the students draw their emotions on the canvas & painted the surrounding in bright colours,” he said, adding: “Following the painting competition, the price distribution was conducted in which the best three drawings in each group were facilitated with prizes.” He said that Anupama Nagpal gave away the prize to the students.
The official said that after drawing competition, a demonstration was presented in front of the students and people, which was a joint exercise of Army and Navy. “The demonstration had many events but the highlights were slithering and Small Team Insertion and Evacuation (SITE) by the commandos and 7 Para. The Navy also displayed underwater driving which was loved by children. The whole surroundings were resounding with claps and shout of the spectators. The Armed forces operate in extreme climatic conditions and different terrain,” the official said.
“Hence the job is very adventurous and challenging at the same time. This profession requires lot of hard work and determination. All the students must hard and play harder to be able to wear this uniform which is pride to of nation. The basic aim of this demo was to motivate children to work hard for secure and better future which is full of colours and adventure,” the official added.
