JAMMU, June 7: Army Head Constable died due to gunshot wounds, which he received during patrolling in Nathu Tiba area of Jogwan in Tehsil Khour, here today.
As per police sources, army Head Constable identified as Patil Dashrath, son of Popat, a resident of District Sangli Maharashtra was patrolling along Line of Control (LoC) in Nathu Tiba area of Jogwan in tehsil Khour when his foot slipped and he received gunshot wounds in his forehead.
He was immediately evacuated to nearest hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased was handed over to Army authorities.
Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Khour Police to ascertain the exact cause of the death.
