JAMMU, July 13: Army today foiled an infiltration attempt by the militants on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.
Officials said the Army spotted suspicious movement on the LoC and opened firing in wee hours of this morning.
Army firing was aimed at neutralizing the militants who might have attempted to infiltrate into the Indian territory from the LoC.
“The infiltration attempt was, however, foiled,” the officials said.
Troops conducted searches on the LoC this morning but no bodies or arms and ammunition were recovered.
The militants trying to infiltrate fled back following effective response by the Army, the officials said.
