Army flags off educational tour

MENDHAR, Sept 9: Army today flagged off an educational tour for students of Mendhar, district Poonch, here today.
The educational tour to Chennai and Bangalore was flagged off by Colonel VS Sambyal, CO, Mendhar Battalion of Bimber Gali Brigade.
While speaking, CO, said that the aim of the tour is to spread the message of peace, harmony and national integration.
The tour will provide an exposure to the students about the pace of development in economy and education alongwith showcasing the way of life in other parts of the country, he added.
He said that, in the tour, 23 students and 2 teachers from the Mendhar town have been given an opportunity by the Army to visit some of the best known places at Chennai and Bangalore.
The students will visit some of the well known places of South India like  Birla Planetorium, Periyar Science and Tech Museum, Fort Saint George, Marina Beach, Film Studio, Bangalore Science Museum, Bangalore Air Force Station, Infosys, HAL and Chhinaswami Stadium, CO added.
They will also witness the passing out parade at OTA, Chennai, which will give them the glimpse of Army life, he said, adding, that the tour will not only enhance their outlook but also assist them to motivate the local youth by sharing their experience and to take up opportunities and explore outside the State.
The educational tour has been organised by Mendhar Battalion of Bimber Gali Brigade under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division.
