NEW DELHI: Udhampur-based Reconnaissance and Observation Flight unit of the Indian Army Aviation has been awarded the Flight Safety Trophy by Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag.
The trophy is awarded annually to the Army Aviation flight achieving best flight safety record while meeting its operational tasks during the year.
Gen Suhag has also also launched ‘video as a service’ as part of the ‘Digital Army’ initiative during the on-going Army Commanders Conference.
The software-based video conferencing solution implemented by the Indian Army is inherently flexible, adequately secure, consumes low bandwidth, up-gradable, inter-operable and a mature product, Army officials said.
The Conference is discussing various policies-related issues of the Indian Army including consolidation and optimization of Army’s land holdings and requirement, optimizing infrastructural and coaching facilities at various Army Sports and Olympic Nodes as part of Mission Olympic initiative and identification of talent during recruiting.
