Army begins welfare activities

Srinagar, Jan 15: Army today started welfare activities across Kashmir to commemorate 66th Army day.
A number of rallies were held today across the Valley to celebrate the day, a spokesman of the Army said.
The spokesman said functions were held in Awantipura, Baramulla, Panzgam, Budgam and Uri.
The Army also distributed some mattresses, kero heaters, chairs and other vocational aids to the disabled children at Chhotey Taare Foundation, the spokesman said.
In Kupwara, 37 prosthetic legs, 8 wheel chairs, 110 hearing aids, 12 crutches and 75 walking sticks were given to some needy people.
