Arms supplier held from Kathua

KATHUA, Oct 23: Punjab Police today arrested one person from Jasrota near here for his involvement in supply of arms and anti national activities in Bhatinda district of the neighbouring State.
According to reports, a team of Crime and Investigation Agency (CIA) Bhatinda today raided the house of Kamaljeet Singh, son of Swarn Singh of Jasrota falling under jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police Station and arrested him from his residence.
The CIA later informed the Rajbagh Police about the raid and his arrest. The accused was evading arrest for a long time after his name figured among the arms suppliers and anti national activists following the arrest of some youth in Bhatinda by CIA some time back. During their interrogation they revealed his name to the investigating agency.
Since then the Bhatinda Police made number of attempts to arrest him but could not get his proper clue as the accused succeeded in giving slip to the police number of times. But this time without informing the local police the CIA raided the residence of Kamaljeet and arrested him on spot.
Later some local youth form Jasrota stopped the CIA team at Lakhanpur and asked them under which case he has been arrested. The Punjab Police Party showed them the FIR copy and the youth left the spot.
The CIA has been registered under FIR Number 80 of 2016 under Section number 124,153,54, 59 of IPC against him.
