Arms recovered in Handwara

SRINAGAR, Mar 12: Police today recovered an old dump of arms and ammunition in Shalnar Hangnikoot area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesperson said searches were conducted by Handwara Police in Shalnar Hangnikoot yesterday, during which an old dump of arms and ammunition was unearthed.
The spokesman said arms and ammunition include an AK 47 rifle with 2 magazines, 75 rounds, 10 grenades, 26 UBGL grenades, 8 UBGL boosters, 2 flamethrowers, 5 rocket shells and 3 rocket boosters.
An FIR no. 19/2023 has been registered at Police Station Vilgam under relevant Sections of law and investigation has been initiated.
