Appointments of 2 MRTs cancelled in GMC for fraud, misrepresentation of facts

JAMMU, Jan 14: Principal, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC&AH) Jammu Shashi Sudhan Sharma today cancelled appointment of two candidates made against the post of ‘Medical Record Technician’ (MRT) under SRO-24 dated 10-01-2019 in GMC&AH Jammu.
“The accused candidates are Riti Bakshi and Neha Raina, who were deputed to SMGS Hospital Jammu on June 29, 2020 for further duties,” a spokesperson of GMC&AH said, adding, the documents (Diploma in MRT) on the basis of which the they secured appointments were found to be fake and invalid.
Elaborating more, the spokesperson said that the Diplomas of Riti and Neha having registration numbers 5058104010817089 and 5056221610808818, respectively were sent to Himalayan University, Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) vide this office letter number AHJ/2020/4058 dated 15-09-2020 for verification and two verification reports were received vide number HU/Ver/12-20/VNA374 dated 04-12-2020 and HU/20/7662672 dated 12-11-2020.
He said on scrutinization of both the reports, it was found that the verification report of both the candidates received vide HU/20/7662672 dated 12-11-2020 had mentioned wrong reference number of GMC&AH Jammu (HUI/20/01215 dated 15-09-2020) which clearly showed that the fraud had been committed by unscrupulous elements i.e. the employees engaged under SRO 24.
“On investigation of the wrong reference number quoted in the verification, it came to fore that the correspondence made from that dispatch number was for some other purpose but the candidates committed fraud and misrepresented the facts so as to cause loss to the Government exchequer,” the spokesperson said.
He said the second verification report of both the candidates received vide HU/Ver/12-20/VNA374 dated 04-12-2020 which was found to be correct with regard to reference number of GMC record, stated that the Diplomas submitted by both the candidates for acquiring appointment was fake and invalid.
The spokesperson said that the University’s Corporate Office in Delhi was contacted on mobile phone also and it was communicated by the concerned authority that the admission numbers and registration numbers mentioned in the academic certificates submitted by both the candidates were found to be false.
“This proved that both the officials misrepresented the facts and tried to rob the Government exchequer by cheating. In view of this, Principal GMC&AH Jammu accorded sanction to cancellation of appointment of both Riti Bakshi and Neha Raina selected as MRT under SRO 24,” he added.
