JAMMU, July 23: Workers of Apni Trade Union (ATU) here today staged a protest demonstration against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for its alleged failure to take up the developmental works in Ward 23 at Satwari.
The protest was led by ATU District president, Anirudh Vasisht who said that lanes and drains in Ward 23 are dilapidated as the area has been neglected by JMC.
“Heavy rainfall and floods recently caused inconvenience to the residents and businessmen in the Ward due to the failure of JMC,” he claimed appealing the concerned authorities to come forward and mitigate the sufferings of the residents of Ward 23.
The ATU leader also appealed district administration to extend the closing time of shopkeepers and other businessmen so that they are able to earn their livelihood smoothly as due to the prolonged lockdowns their economic conditions are hit.
