JAMMU, Dec 10: Apni Party Youth Wing, State general secretary Abhay Bakaya has demanded increase in security arrangements in Jagti migrant colony following theft in shops.
In a statement, Abhay expressed surprise over how the police could be in able to keep check in the area falling under their jurisdiction.
“The shops which were looted were hardly 100 meters away from the Police Post in Jagti,” he said and questioned the alertness of the police men deployed there.
He said that the theft case has exposed the failure of the concerned Police Post given for the protection of the migrants in Jagti.
“The people particularly shopkeepers have developed a sense of insecurity following the theft. In this situation, the Police Department should deploy more police men to petrol the area during the night and check the suspicious activity in Jagti”. he said.
He said that the thieves have been caught in the CCTV footage and the police should identify the thieves and arrest them.
He also spoke to DIG Jammu with regard to the theft and demanded additional deployment of police force.
The DIG has assured that he will take necessary action in the theft case.
