JAMMU, July 29: Apni Party Women’s Wing Provincial President, Namrta Sharma today expressed concern over the Administration’s indifference in building protection wall at Model Town Gangyal, where flash floods had wreaked havoc and destroyed the property of the residents.
Under the leadership of Namrta Sharma, a deputation of Apni Party activists including Pavneet Kour, Sarabjeet and Seema along with Model Town residents met with Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg and narrated various issues concerning the locality in depth.
Namrta said that flash floods occur often in the Model Town area and the Administration has consistently ignored their legitimate demands, causing the inhabitants to suffer.
“It is the Administration’s responsibility to take adequate measures to protect residents’ property from the flash floods, which have occurred frequently in overflowing brooks at Gangyal”, she added.
Namrta said that the Deputy Commissioner listened patiently and assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed within a reasonable amount of time.
