JAMMU, Nov 13: Apni Party District Committee Jammu Urban today held a protest demonstration against the faliure of Jal Shakti Dept to supply drinking water in ward number 40 and other areas of Jammu City.
Led by District Committee, Jammu Urban, president Pranav Shagotra, the protesters along with the locals of Ward No. 40 assembled outside the office of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti/PHE, BC Road and started protest demonstration. The protesters alleged that the locals are in deep trouble because of no drinking water supply in ward 40 from the last one week.
Speaking on the occasion, Shagotra said it is unfortunate that the Govt of India is pumping funds in J&K for smooth working of Jal Shakti Dept and enabling the Deptt to provide clean drinking water to the people. However, it has miserably failed to do justice with the people. He said that the J&K Govt, must intervene and hold a probe against Jal Shakti Dept with regard to the utilization of funds. The Deptt has not been able to fulfil the task which has been given by the Govt with proper funding which is a matter of investigation, he said.
