JAMMU, Jan 8: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) today listed various pending demands before the Government and urged it to settle them at an earliest.
The resolution was adopted by the top APMCC leadership led by Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC and King C Bharati national spokesperson of the organisation in the migrant employees meet organized by the organisation here.
Speaking on the occasion Vinod Pandit said that at the time of employment given to Kashmiri Migrants under Prime Ministers Special Recruitment Package it was promised that the migrant employees working in Kashmir Valley would be provided with the sufficient and adequate accommodation, but unfortunately only 550 (Pre- Fabricated) quarters have been put up till date for more than 3000 employees who are putting up on sharing basis along with their families.
Apart from this, additional 3000 posts have to be filled by the Government for Kashmiri Pandit’s as a part of return and rehabilitation program and as far as the accommodation of these employees and employees putting up in sharing basis is concerned the Government must construct more structures at district Anantnag, Srinagar, Kupwara, Baramulla, Pulwama, Shopian etc on war footing basis as soon as possible so that KP employees may feel a sigh of relief.
As far as transit camp Vessu is concerned out of 32 towers only three towers are complete and work on the said concrete flats is going at snail’s pace, he said while in Baramulla there is still no facility for regular water and electricity and employees have to get water from far off places.
He further informed that in Mattan 97 employees are residing in just 16 flats comprising of 5-6 families on sharing basis in a single flat thus making a mockery of the return plan for the Pandits.
Deliberating over the other issues King C Bharati said that despite the fact that employees are living on sharing basis in quarters and being a security accommodation some vested interest officials including DDO’s particularly ZEO Devsar, Qaimoh, Kulgam and Qazigund are deducting HRA from the salaries of the employees which is violation of the established law.
He said that despite the six years of service of the migrant employees no Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings were held to promote the migrant employees while their colleagues have been getting regular promotions through DPCs.
Prominent among those who attended the meet include Sanjay Koul from Vessu, Avtar Krishan Bhat from Veerwan KP Colony, Baramulla, representatives from Mattan Camp Ranjan Jyotshi, Shakti Kandroo, Rakesh Bhan, vineet Raina, Rohit Raina, Rahul Kachroo and other KP colonies of employees in Kashmir.
