SAMBA, Sept 18: Apni Party Provincial president Jammu and former minister, Manjit Singh today said that they will implement Social Security Schemes in Jammu and Kashmir to upgrade the living standard of the people.
Addressing a public meeting at village Bassi, Panchayat Pali, Bari Brahmana, Manjit Singh said that the Apni Party has prepared a blueprint to implement Social Security Schemes in a systematic manner in J&K for the benefit of the economically weaker section.
He said that these schemes would help in upgrading the living standard of the people who have been neglected by the traditional political parties whenever they came to power in the last seven decades. “The Govt of India sponsored schemes could have benefited but the Govts have failed to implement them on the ground. After August 5, 2019, the assembly elections were not held and the Govt in J&K is being run by the bureaucracy with control from the BJP indirectly,” he said.
The BJP which remains in power all alone from the last several years has not concerned about the people, especially a large population which still needs basic amenities, health, educational facilities, upgradation of road connectivity and other related things, he said.
“The poverty in J&K has also increased and unemployment is unprecedented. To handle these things, the holding of assembly elections is necessary so that the people can get their own representation in the Govt and their issues could be resolved,” he added.
Singh said that the Apni Party has denounced the politics of regional hate and adopted a policy to promote brotherhood and regional equality of both the regions with equal opportunity to all the people for their development and employment.
“If Apni Party comes to power, we will implement the Social Security Scheme, will ensure 500 units of free electricity to the people in Jammu during summers and to the people in Kashmir during winters whereas, the people in Jammu during winters will get 300 units of free electricity and Kashmir will get 300 units of free electricity during summers. Party is committed to enhance the window pension up to Rs 5000 and 4 cooking gas cylinders to each family in a year under Ujjwala Scheme,” Singh claimed.
