JAMMU, June 6: A deputation of Association of Industries (AoI) met with Director Industries and Commerce Rajinder Singh Tara and MD SICOP Ratten Lal Tikku under the presidentship of Udhayvir Singh at Udhyog Bhawan Jammu and discussed various problems faced by unit holders and also submitted memorandum to them.
During the meeting the AoI senior vice president Raghubir Gandotra said that the IID Centre Battal Ballian was established by Industries Department/ SICOP in the year 1998 with total area 1051 kanals of land including 100 kanals temporarily allotted to Kashmiri migrants which was now under the possession of CRPF.
The Government /concerned authorities had then promised the entrepreneurs by providing exceptional services/ facilities in term of providing PHE water supply, establishing post office, bank branch, installation of electric transformers for providing light load and internal road but nothing substantial has been done by the Government.
Gandotra said that Udhampur is backward district from the industrial point of view. In Battal Ballian Industrial area roads are in worst condition, maximum drains are blocked and lights are not properly functioning. He said that association time to time took up these issues with SICOP and higher authorities but no heed was paid.
The Director Industries assured the members present on the occasion that he will try to provide every facility so that Industry can develop in Udhampur district.
After hearing the grievances and receiving copy of memorandum MD SICOP assured the Association to give full support to them.
