SRINAGAR, May 18: Air Vice Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha, Air Officer Commanding, J&K, met Governor Satya pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today and briefed him about the role and responsibilities of IAF in the State.
Governor appreciated the professionalism with which IAF is performing its duties in the State and the valuable support it provides to the civilian population living in remote areas and during emergencies.
Former Finance Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also called on Governor and brought various issues of public importance into his notice.
Bukhari also discussed about the progress on various Central and State Government developmental schemes under implementation in Srinagar city especially in Amirakadal constituency and pleaded for expediting their early completion.
Emphasizing on the need of construction of grade separators at Sanat Nagar, Nowgam and Bemina crossings, Bukhari urged the Governor to facilitate the approval and release of requisite funds so that the work on these projects is started at an earliest. He also highlighted the importance of these projects in minimizing the accidents and decongestion of traffic at these junctions.
