JAMMU, Apr 29: A 10-day long anti-tobacco campaign was launched in R S Pura Zone, here.
The campaign was formally launched from Middle School Suchetgarh and Kung. An impressive function in this connection was organized wherein ZEO Veena Devi was the chief guest while ZEPO Suresh Dubey presided over the function.
Speakers on the occasion threw light on ill effects of tobacco use and stressed that a vigorous campaign should be launched for anti-tobacco awareness among masses.
Students also took part in the deliberations and effectively presented their view point over the issue. They demanded strict implementation of laws against sale and consumption of tobacco products.
Later, cash prizes were given to the students whose speeches were ranked first second and third while a rally was also taken out amidst raising of slogans against use of tobacco products.
During the 10-day long campaign, 20 schools of R S Pura Zone will be covered.
