JAMMU, June 6: Former Congress Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha, Gulchain Singh Charak has alleged that some anti-Jammu forces were trying to vitiate the atmosphere and disturb peace in Jammu region.
Expressing serious concern over the prevailing grave situation in Jammu region, the Dogra leader in a press statement today said that this realty has now become known fact that some anti-Jammu forces along with some subversive elements are indulging in very clever tactics for disturbing the normal and peaceful life in Jammu. It is evident from the chain of events taking place during the last few months here.
Initially, the Jammu people were shocked and disturbed with the statements that AIIMS is being constructed at Srinagar instead of Jammu and that the artificial lake over river Tawi was non-feasible. Already casual approach towards the projects of great importance for Jammu have been delayed due to certain reasons which also include Mubarak Mandi Heritage and Rope Way / Gandola Projects.
Further, the anti-Jammu forces have given a step motherly treatment to the poor Jammu farmers by offering cheques of Rs 32, 37 and 94 for their damaged crops due to floods, rains and hailstorm. Same is the case of border dwellers who suffered huge losses due to cross border firing.
The recent incident of firing on the protesters at Ranibagh in Jammu, resulting into the death of a youth and injuries to many others and policemen seems to be a very calculated plan of disturbing peace in Jammu and engineer communal divide. It is high time that the Jammu people should remain vigilant about the anti-Jammu forces and subversive elements.
Mr Charak also offered his heartfelt condolences and tributes to 18 Army jawans who sacrificed their lives in the service to the nation during ambush by militants in Manipur on June 4. He made special mention of six brave soldiers from Jammu region who made supreme sacrifice.
