JAMMU, Feb 11: The State police in its drive against narcotics organized an awareness camp here at Bus Stand.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu, Shiv Kumar Chauhan, SP City North, Randhir Singh, SP Headquarters and others.
During the camp, pamphlets indicating ill effects of the drugs were distributed among the transporters, drivers, children and local inhabitants in order to educate them about ill effects of drugs.
DIG Jammu while speaking on the occasion, said that police has launched the drive against drugs in all the three districts of Jammu Range and cautioned the participants to help the police in identifying drug peddlers, so that strict action against the drug mafia is taken to put an end to this menace.
SSP Jammu, SP City North and SP Headquarters Jammu also spoke on the occasion.
Presidents of Banihal Group, Jammu-Chamb Group, KMD, Matador Union, Auto Union and Taxi Union were also present on the occasion.
