KISHTWAR, Apr 16: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah who is extensively campaigning in Chenab region today said that anti-BJP sentiment is resonating across Chenab region.
Addressing series of public meetings in Paddar, Gulabgarh and Nagseni today Omar said there is great resentment against BJP against the sitting candidate. He said due to the anti-people policies of the Saffron Party, the general public is against it. They are waiting for the opportunity to teach a lesson to this party as it has snatched their rights.
He said the claims of the BJP leaders with regard to the development in Udhampur- Doda Constituency are far from the truth,. It do not corroborates the development narrative that the BJP is peddling,
The sentiment against BJP, Omar said “resonates across the constituency spread over 18 Assembly segments and the districts of Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur and Kathua. Notwithstanding BJPs claims of “development” in the region for the past 10 years, the area’s unemployed youth are not convinced by the feel-good narrative. The dominant view is that non-local people are pocketing government jobs and business contracts. Youth continue to suffer from unemployment, loss of contracts to non locals and widespread unaccountability.
The NC vice president also led road shows in Kishwar and Paddar area on the second consecutive day of his tour to the region, seeking support for the INDI Alliance candidate, Ch Lal Singh.
