Invitational Hockey tourney

JAMMU, Apr 16: SGPC beat Roundglass Hockey Academy, Bathinda XI beat Vijay Club Baramulla, YB Hockey Club Sujjanpur beat GNN Jammu & Poonch beat Anantnag in the second day of the ongoing ‘Sarbat Da Bhalla’, a National Level Invitational Hockey tournament at Jammu.
Four matches were played today. Yesterday’s leftover match which was abandoned due to heavy rains was played today in which SGPC Amritsar defeated Roundglass Hockey Club Chandigarh by 2-1. Karandeep Singh, goalkeeper of SGPC team was declared as man of the match.
In the 2nd match played between Bathinda XI & Vijay Club Baramulla, Bathinda XI drubbed Vijay Club by 11-1, Aman Thakur of Bathinda XI was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the third match between YB Hockey Club Sujjanpur & GNN Hockey Club Jammu where Saujjanpur defeated GNN by 5-0. Inder Singh Sudan Ex Corporator JMC was the chief guest and Paramjit Singh was the guest of honour in the first match, while Er Gurmeet Singh (Retd) MD PDD, and former national player was the chief guest and Sumit Gupta MD Aradheya Aryan Construction was the guest of honour of the 2nd match of the day. In the final match played between Power House Poonch & Sangar Sales Hockey Club Anantnag in which Power house won with a margin of 14-0.
