JAMMU, Aug 21: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu has attached a property in Wachi area of Shopian district under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after confirmation from the competent authority under SAFEMA.
Officials said the action was taken in connection with FIR number 13/2023 registered under sections 8, 15 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station ANTF Jammu.
Following investigation, they said, the land measuring 2 kanals and 1 marla in Wachi, falling under Khasra number 2301/1051, was found to have been acquired through proceeds of narcotics trade.
“The property has now been officially seized, and the owner, identified as Mohd Yaqoob Bhat of Wachi, has been restrained from selling, leasing, or transferring it,” they said.
The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985, officials said.
Authorities have also advised the public not to engage in any transaction related to the seized land.
ANTF officials said the move is part of an intensified campaign to choke the financial networks of drug traffickers in Jammu and Kashmir.
They added that hitting illicit assets directly weakens drug syndicates and serves as a strong deterrent.
The action was conducted by DySP ANTF Jammu Tanweer Ahmed Jeelani, with the assistance of Inspector Nayat Ali under the guidance of SSP ANTF J&K Anwar-ul-Haq.
