Ansari reviews progress of e-Assembly project

JAMMU, Dec 2: Minister for Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports and Technical Education Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today said efforts are on to make the Assembly Sessions paperless, adding that, all the queries and replies filed by the lawmakers will be digitalized.
The issue was discussed threadbare in a meeting attended by Commissioner Secretary IT, officers from Assembly Secretariat and other departments of the Secretariat.
The Minister assured the officers that necessary help would be provided to them by the IT Department to make e-Assembly project successful.
In the meeting, while announcing the much-awaited initiative, Ansari said that the lawmakers and Ministers will be given the tablets with a particular App containing all their queries and replies.
“The e-Assembly project for the State of Jammu and Kashmir has been envisaged for end to end computerization of the Assembly processes so that paper work can be reduced, time is saved and Assembly members can put their questions in online format and complete digitization of Assembly can be done,” he added.
Secretary IT apprised the Minister that the Jammu and Srinagar Assembly will get WiFi service, which could be availed by anyone during the session. The meeting was also informed that training session of Secretariat officers is going on in full swing to acquaint them with the usage of the e-Assembly software.
