Govt keen to redress issues of PHE workers: Sham

JAMMU, Dec 2: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today directed the Chief Engineers to prepare a comprehensive data of casual, seasonal laborers, ITI workers, need-based workers and land donors working in the department.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to expedite the process of compiling the data at the earliest and said that the Government is keen to redress the issues of these workers rendering their services to the department. The discrepancies in number of such workers should be eliminated and appropriate data must be submitted to his office as soon as possible, he added.
These directions were issued by the Minister in a meeting convened with the officers of the department. Secretary to Govt, PHE, I&FC Department Sanjeev Verma, Director Finance PHE, I&FC Department Mahesh Das, Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu Susheel Aima, Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir GM Bhat, Chief Engineer, I&FC Jammu Rajeev Gandotra, Chief Engineer, I&FC Kashmir Javed Jaffar, Chief Engineer RTIC HC Jerath and concerned senior officers attended the meeting.
While addressing the meeting, the Minister said that the process of biometric attendance and Aadhaar seeding of these workers should be completed in stipulated time frame and no laxity on part of officers would be tolerated.
The Minister also sought details of the vacancy of Gazetted/Non-Gazetted and Class-IV posts in various divisions of the department, besides asking for details of liabilities under Capital & Revenue component of various divisions of the department.
The Minister sought details of cases pending in the court of law related to various divisions of the department. He directed the PLOs to pursue the matters in the courts properly for smooth functioning of the department.
