Ansari replaces Farooq as new JKCA President

Srinagar : Imran Raza Ansari, Sports Minister in the PDP-BJP coalition government, has replaced Farooq Abdullah as new President of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) — State’s top cricketing body hit by a multi-crore scam and allegations of favouritism for quite some time now.

According to reliable solurces, Abdullah was replaced today as President while Mehboob Iqbal elected as new chairman after 44 JKCA members out of a total of 64 attended the meeting, which has been termed as “illegal” by the former president and his close associates like the ‘tainted’ official Ahsan Mirza.

Iqbal Shah is the new JKCA General Secretary, Abdul Rauf treasurer, Mohammad Ashraf joint secretary while Javed Kitab new vice chairman.
