Another Jammu boy cracks IAS

JAMMU, July 5: Another Jammu youth Kannav Sharma has cracked IAS examination by securing 473rd rank in the Indian Civil Services examination.
With this, total 11 candidates from the State have qualified the prestigious IAS examination. Mr Sharma (26), a B.Tech from NIT Srinagar, gives credit for his success to his parents who supported him a lot to achieve this feat. He said it was only due to the support of his parents that he could get through the Civil Services examination in third attempt.
Hailing from Mohinder Nagar, Canal Road Jammu, Mr Kannav is gold medalist from NIT Srinagar. He did his schooling from KC Public School, Jammu.  Kannav remained second topper in his school in 12th. He is the son of a trader, Ganesh Dutt Sharma, running provisions store on Canal Road, Jammu. Her mother Geeta Sharma is a house wife.
Kannav said that without the support of his parents, this success was not possible. He said that for one and half years, he was in Delhi taking coaching for exam. He expressed his desire to serve the people and come up to their expectations after joining service. Kannav had failed to qualify KAS in 2011, but he passed prestigious IAS exam.
Ch Mohd Yasin, resident of Chowadi in Jammu and presently residing in Gandhinagar Jammu achieved All India rank 459. He is not resident of Poonch as reported in a section of Press  on Sunday. Yasin is Electrical engineer from IIT Roorkee  and was working in TUV Rheinland in Europe & Oracle Financial Services in Mumbai. He had also qualified IFS in 2014.
Meanwhile, Himalayan Education Mission, Rajouri celebrated the success of one of its alumni Baseer- Ul-Haq from Thannamandi, who cracked IAS clinching 46th rank. Amongest the 11 candidates from J&K,   Baseer achieved the top rank. Management and Principal of the Himalyan Mission School extended congratulations to Baseer and his family.
