KATHUA, July 5:  Renowned Dogri writer Yashpaul Nirmal  was honoured and two books  released in an impressive function here  by Triveni Kala Kunj.
The function was presided over by renowned  writer of  the state Dr Usha Monga while others renowned poet Vijay Sharma, Dr Sanjay Sehgal , Shashi Sharma,  Daleep Singh Sawan, Balak Ram, Popinder Singh Paras and Yashpaul Nirmal also shared the presidium.
Earlier,  Vijay Sharma secretary of  TKKK welcomed the dignitaries and all the guests. He also threw light on the life and work of  Yashpaul Nirmal and Popinder Singh Paras. After that presidium welcomed Yashpaul Nirmal and Popinder Singh. Yashpaul Nirmal was honoured on being awarded the prestigious  Sahitya  Akademi Translation Award 2014 by the highest Academy of  Letters of  Govt of India  by providing him Shawl and memento. After felicitation  of  Yashpaul Nirmal two books entitled  “Wahge Aahli Lakeer ” Collection of  memoirs written in Punjabi by Prof  S S Chhena and translated into Dogri by Yashpaul Nirmal and Popinder Singh Paras and second book entitled “Dus Lekh” collection of articles in Dogri language written by Yashpaul Nirmal was released.
Dr Usha Monga in her presidential address congratulated Yashpaul Nirmal and  Popinder Singh  for the release of their books. She also appreciated the contribution of Yashpaul Nirmal towards his mother language Dogri.
